It’s been a really tough time for so many industries but we’ve managed to continue working on developing our software and also focused on talking to our customers to make sure we can support them in any way we can.

Our team are all now working virtually but we embraced Teams in a big way and continue to have weekly meetings to check in and ensure everyone knows what’s happening across the business. We also invested in new laptops and upgraded the server which has also helped.

As I say, I think we’ve been fortunate enough to be relatively unscathed and having moved the team to remote working without any trouble, I’d say we’re well-prepared to deal with any more global challenges. But here’s hoping we don’t have to!

The biggest change has been working remotely. While we’ve always encouraged flexible working for the team, it’s interesting to see how well everyone has embraced it and it’s had a positive impact. Long term, it would be good to have a mix of working from home and from the office, as seeing everyone face to face is always good.

I think generally we’ve had to up our game in terms of having more regular communication. Checking in with colleagues, even if it’s only once or twice a week is so important when you’re not seeing them daily. Hopefully, our team meetings with bacon rolls will return in 2021!
